TEACHER IN THE WORKPLACE
TEACHER IN THE WORKPLACE – COHORT 2
Future Fayette Workforce – Teacher in the Workplace (TIW) program is a hands-on opportunity for educators to spend time at local businesses. This program looks to create a system for education professionals in Fayette County to have opportunities to experience and interact with local business and industry leaders that leads to developing career readiness learning, experience and classroom instruction for students in the K-12 system.
What Is Teacher In The Workplace?
The program provides an opportunity for Fayette County High and Middle School teachers to take part in a STEAM immersion experience. The program will provide professional development for CORE teachers on Project Based Learning, the Career Readiness Standards and regional STEAM resources. Resource partners include: Westmoreland Fayette Workforce Investment Board, Intermediate Unit One, Catalyst Connection, and ASSET Stem.
All 6 school districts (Albert Gallatin, Brownsville, Connellsville, Frazier, Laurel Highlands, Uniontown) and 2 Career and Technical Centers (Fayette County Career and Technical Institute & Connellsville Career and Technical Center) from Fayette County were asked to participate and provide recommendations of CORE teachers to participate in the program.
